Johnson Controls owns Optima as well, and I have heard nothing but excellent things about the Optimas. Granted they are more pricey, but supposedly do not leak and keep a charge for a long time. Excellent qualities for older cars like ours. And they are made right here in Denver, CO :)

I am putting a 6 volt version Optima in my Notch next week.  :)

What is the consensus on Optima brand batteries. I still have a flyer from the local VW store I used to use before the owner died. They were being highly touted by the store employees.
