I have the 12V starter from Jane. It is for an automatic, so is self supporting. I think all I need to do is pull the old 6V starter and bolt the automatic 12V starter in its place. I think I remember that I am lucky in the fact that I have a 200mm flywheels so it does not need to be swapped.
Does this sound right? What am I missing?

John,

If Sophy has a manual transmission, then I believe you will need to remove the starter bushing from the transmission so the automatic starter will bolt on.

Yeah, she is a manual. I wasn't sure if that was necessary or not. Couldn't remember if the 6V or 12V was the larger diameter. Anyone know for sure if I need to remove the starter bushing?
