Re: [T3] This morning's work

<x-flowed>Thanks,

I think I've finally understood what seals against what (I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes).

Undoubtedly it will be clearer once I've taken a closer look at everything. We basically just took out the engine and left the rest for another day.

Daniel.

So in other words, e.g. in the case of the engine oil seal, I should oil
both the inside (the sealing part) and the outside (the part that faces the
drive plate), and smooth the drive plate, before installing the oil seal?
Most books talk about using a sealing adhesive, presumably around the
outside edge of the seal. Do you use any?

Polish the nose of the drive plate, and lube it and the sealing lip of the
seal. I use some light sealer on the OD of the seal there, but it's probably
not necessary; a bit of oil there just might be all that's necessary to press
the seal in without damage. What does Russ do?
