I went this route when I did my Notch, but I used 2 meters of blue hose
instead. This keeps ANY steel induced rust out of the master cylinder, by
eliminating it from the system. I placed mine in the stock for 68 to 70 location
though. It worked out nicely for me, and it kept the reservoir out of the spring
along the back wall (71 and later doesn't use this style of spring). I realize
any brake fluid spillage can cause the inner fender to rust, but being able to
access it makes up for the potential future rust spot.
