That's correct. Check the AT chapter; I think you'll find it in there. The 
Bentley claims that you have to take the AT out to do this, but I've done it in 
the car with a stubby screwdriver. I wasn't able to accurately measure the 
torque, but I guesstimated it.

It's possible, but I tried it and it didn't help my '73 tranny. It's bands 
didn't seem to need any adjustment at all.

I don't know. How good a friend is he, or how expensive is he? If it helps, I'd
