[T3] Raise it up.
<x-flowed>
Well, now that my garage is finally cleared of screen printing
equipment,
I have a place for type 3 work.
Now that I have some space, I'm planning on raising my '67 square up
some. [remember:
http://herbie.ddv.com/~fess/type3/issues/ride_height/ ]
It's probably been 10 years since I've done any work like this on a car.
I have to decide if I want to do front and back. At the moment I'm
thinking of just adjusting the front only. Attempting to do this
without disconnecting the brake lines.
I've read the bentley, the clymer, and the elfrink and keiths front end
FAQ. So I think I can do this.
One question I have is if I don't have the special tool to adust to the
specific angle, [ which might not be the angle I want anyhow, if I only
do the front at this time. ] How does one measure the angles to make
sure both sides are at the same? Is it a matter of trusting that they
were in the first place, and being sure to move the same number of
splines [inner and outer] on the torsion bars? Because, given the
state the PO left the rear of the car, and the fact that it's on the
stoppers in the front, I don't think I can trust that.
I'll probably end up doing this job twice, as I want to get it up high
enough to get rid of the 135s in the front, and then I'll have to
adjust it more properly to level after getting new tires.
I think the only special tool I need is a ball joint puller.
any other things I should be worried about?
