Factory hose was 7mm, but it failed where it was stretched over the barbs on fittings. Check the cnetrifugal advance. and the vac. advance. Check for wear in the breaker plate. Check the fuel pressure. 28-32 psi. I know the books say 28-30, but I have found that the gas milage comes up, the closer to 32 you get. The engine isnt quite so lean, and works easier, with less throttle opening. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
