[T3] Rechroming a license plate frame?

<x-flowed>I'm working on a theme for when I show the Fastback is done.  The car 
was originally owned in San Jose, California, so along the way I've 
picked up a correct vintage California license plate and a Norm Andersen 
Porsche/VW plate frame.  The rear bumper still has a San Jose City 
College staff parking sticker on it.

My question is, I picked up the license plate frame cheap, and its not 
in very good condition.  The chrome is extremely pitted.  Is it worth 
sending the frame out for re chroming with the bumpers?  Has anyone 
tried this?
