[T3] to be o-ring or not to be

Hey Guys......I just took the 4 screws outta my T3 fuel pump cover to clean 
it out...my o-ring is not a "O" shape ring any more, (being flattened on 2 
sides).....
I'm assuming it's suppodda be a round o-ring, right?

If I just take the cover to my local hardware store and match it up 
size-wise....I should be good to go...or is this some kinda special 
specific o-ring??
