I think '70 got the spring. Did early cars have the spring, too? If so, when did the scrubber start? I liked the scrubber, but I think they caused some problems in cold weather. They tended to ice up with combustion moisture and clog the breather. Most of them were removed and thrown away by mechanics. I still have one, however, which I won on ebay a few years ago. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
