I've not take one of these apart, but I suspect you're wise to leave it to someone who has done it before. I recommend that you contact Gabriel Garcia to see if he can fix this. gabvwkey@sbcglobal.net He is a locksmith specializing in VW keys and locks. For what it's worth, in the later locks, the lock cylinder and the electrical switch are 2 separate parts. In those the spring return is part of the switch, not the lock. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
