[T3] productive time...update

Just a short update at the work I've been doing lately, thanks to help from
the list.

I got the original windshield washer hose replaced(the main hose from tank
to switch) thanks to Jim A. The tubing he sent looked way too small...but
that's what gets it to make a good seal.

I also replaced the drain tube from the air handling unit(AHU) and the
second tube from the plenum. If you guys remember the lower metal tubes were
pretty rusty-one had rusted completely through. I ended up getting long
pieces of tubing (3/4" O.D. and 5/8" ID, I think) and running them through
the metal tubing and out down below the car. I forgot who gave me that
suggestion, but Thanks.

When doing this tubing replacement I found the best thing to do is dip the
end in a mug of hot/boiling water. Hold it there for a little while(at least
15 seconds, depending on tube thickness) and then the end becomes much more
flexible, and will stretch over larger tubes more easily. This way the stuff
that looks "way too small" actually works quite well.

Now the interior is all dried out(after sitting in a garage for 3-4 weeks).
I got some large magnets to cover those air intakes on the front, I still
need to cut them to size.

I steam cleaned all the carpets...look pretty nice and clean.

I lubed the driver side window mechanism-now rolls pretty smoothly.

I tried swapping the doors-turned out to be more difficult than I imagined,
and the replacement doors were a different color. SO anyone looking for
light blue 1972 or 1973 doors(not exactly sure-they aren't 1971, my year)
let me know.

I took the car to the car wash-I got no leaks from the front, I still get
some leaking at the top of both doors. I think I'm going to try that DDB
gasket that goes on the body, instead of the door. a lot cheaper than the
original. Anyone got experience with that? I also get leaking at the rear
hatch...where can I get a new rear hatch seal?

I replaced the front bumper-the original was quite rusty on the passenger
side. I think when the passenger side was hit, that someone heated up the
bumper to get it to bend back. Does anyone have any pics of the
reinforcement bar around the axle? Mine doesn't sit quite symmetrically. ON
the passenger side it is practically hitting the axle, and on the driver's
side there is a gap of some size. Because of this asymmetry I can only get
one of the two screws that attach this bar to the bumper in. Any suggestions
on that one? Do you guys all use this reinforcing bar?

Anyway I'm pretty beat...got a storm coming in tonight-otherwise I'm going
out tomorrow to finish my clean up, and putting the tools away.

Ciao...
