Ah, so radios were a dealer-installed item then. It's concievable that you could buy a car w/o a radio altogether, then. I forget that buying a car 20-30 years ago was a somewhat different affair than today, what with me being a scant 1 month younger than my Fasty. On Sun, 2005-02-27 at 20:17, Jim Adney wrote:
My '73 Fasty's window sticker says $3149 (including destination charges), and the only options it got were 5 radial tires and Blue Leatherette interior. Old guy didn't even spring for the Sapphire XIX AM/FM radio, just the Sapphire XVIII AM radio it came with.I'm surprised that it was this high by '73, but where was this? I would expect destination charges to be higher on the left coast.
Any radio would not have shown up on the same window sticker, because that sticker was from the factory, while the radio would have been dealer installed.
Radial tires and leatherette interior were factory options.
Especially a Sapphire XVIII. That is an American made radio.
