Where's the oil leak? You may not HAVE to drop the motor.

There's nothing to "adjust." You have to find and fix what has gone wrong. 
First thing to check would be the pressure sensor hose connections, just make 
sure one end of the hose didn't fall off. Next check the charging system 
voltage; it should put the battery voltage above 14V with a warm engine at med 
RPM. If the voltage is low, replace the voltage regulator with a Bosch 30-019.

Oh, and you should probably start by rechecking all the usual tuneup items: 
valve lash, dwell, timing.

It's not weird, but it is the FI. The FI shuts down completely when it's not 
needed. In other words, why put fuel into an engine that is only trying to slow 
the car down?

You need a Bentley manual, for this and many other reasons. No point in even 
considering working on this car yourself unless you have a good manual.
