The most common cause for this is a 72-3 engine which has been converted to dual carbs without paying attention to the crankcase breather. This allows pressure to build up in the case until oil is blown out the rear, around the crank. There is no seal there, but this is no problem as long as you have a proper breather. So, does your breather box have 2 plastic plugs on top, and has your engine been converted to carbs? -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
