Why go to all that work? Look for an '83.5-'85 WBX Vanagon distributor -- NOT the '86-and-up. Has
the dual advance, has the electronic ignition, already fits our engines.
I'll say it again: NOT the '86-and-up Vanagon distributor. Those have *NO* advance mechanism *at* *all* -- advance on those is controlled by the FI ECU.
