That's the problem I had with my 205L ('68 FI) distributor. I've got Weber ICTs so there's no appropriate vacuum port. I just plugged the port on the diaphram can but eventually (last week) had problems with the advance not being stable. I removed the vacuum can and tied the vacuum advance plate in place with safety wire. So now I have a centrifugal advance only.
