RE: [T3] Eberspacher heater questions


My 87 Golf has "instant heat"  Well, more like a mile down the road heat and
the reason is that the system routes the coolant right through the heat
(which is aluminum) so it heats up very quickly then directly to the
heater... the engine itself comes up to temperature much more slowly and
only then it routes the coolant through the radiator when the thermostat
opens.

When it gets really cold the temperature at the heater outlets is a direct
function of how far down the accelerator is!
