Hmmm...you are probably right, but it boils me with heat 1 second after I start the car. I don't know how it could do that in cold weather without an electric element - I think it would take a moment for the heat to get going if it was from water cooling exchange.

Anyhow, my point was that none of my American or Japanese cars have had gasoline fired heaters like the Eberspacher.
