[T3] red loctite for oil sump studs?

<x-flowed>I have several loose and leaking oil sump studs after installing a 1.5 qt 
sump without using any thread sealant/locking agent (brilliant, I know). 
I'm planning on draining the oil and cleaning the threads in the sump and 
case with q-tips, and reinstalling the studs with the proper 
agent/compound. Question: What agent/compound should I use? Someone on a 
Samba thread mentioned red loctite, but I didn't see any posts confirming 
or rejecting. Is this what I should be using? Is the procedure relatively 
straightforward (i.e. apply, screw in the studs, let dry) and will it work 
if there is a bit of oil residue left in the threads (likely)?
