Unless something is wired wrong. Have you checked your oil? Or does it come on as your idle comes clear down. Some VW's with some miles on them will flicker the oil light at idle when hot. If it goes right out, the engine is OK, just starting to show its age. VW has used the same sendor for all these years, so any oil switch from about any year will will work. I don't have the number in front of me. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) '05 KIA Sorento SUV russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
