[T3] located paper air cleaner elements for Brazilian set up (!)
Hi All,
Many thanks to everyone for the responses and leads regarding the paper
air cleaner elements for my Brazilian T-3 carb set up. Jim's suggestion
that I try Gene Berg was the ticket. They knew just what I was describing
and had them in stock for $18.90 each. I bought two after I was told that
they only had four in stock total, and that they probably would not be
able to reorder them. This means there should be two still sitting on the
shelf.... <the race is on!>.
The Gene Berg part number is: GB498D
The VW/Audi part number on the element is: 041.129.619.1
Note: My old element was another brand (Logan CFA-018-P). I'm not sure if
it was meant for this application specifically, but it fit fine. I
located the part in this Brazilian catalog on p. 73
http://www.dana.com.br/download/pdf/catalogo/Wix_FIltros_2003.pdf
This might pan out as another source in case Berg can't reorder the VW
elements anymore.
Question: does anyone have a ballpark estimate as to how many miles one
of these elements should last under normal city driving?
Cheers,
Dave Y.
