[ for a 72 FI MT square. ] That IS the right part #. There are only 2 OE bushings: 6V and 12V. 12V beetles use the same bushing as 12V type 3s. Russ is right; just check it by sliding it onto the starter shaft first. It should slip right on with almost no play.
