Did the T3 have a sliding bit of sheet metal that closed the heater vents down by the driver's and passenger's feet? Wasn't there a series of small slots and something that closed them with a slider? I mean to reconstruct that part now, and I don't remember what that even looked like since the rust ate it all. Has anyone a T3 in pristine condition with all that functional? My flaps on the up and down sliders to the defrost slots do all seem to be there thankfully, but there are just holes where the front floor heat vents once were. Did it have a bit of sliding sheet metal like the T1? By the way I have found that a paint, called POR -15, is effective in stopping rust. I was skeptical of their claims, but I cut out the "Lace Hole" parts and treated the rest with this stuff then let it sit a year. The rust did not come back! It's expensive, but it worked. Paul C.
