I think it's quite possible that he's right, but it will require care and skill to machine it accurately. The surface finish you end up with is also critical to the seal life. If he can recommend someone who can do it right for less money then fine. If the cost of the machining gets close to that of the Speedi Sleeve, then I'd go with the Speedi Sleeve. Of course you can just try to find a good drive plate, but I suspect that's a long shot unless you want to get one mailed from the US. I'm pretty sure that would cost you about the same, too. I'm curious about how much the Speedi Sleeve costs in Israel. Have you checked? That might have a big effect on your decision. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
