Yeah, I don't particularly trust them to properly install the carbs either. I don't even trust them to order the right type. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to bring the car home because my landlord said it can't be here. I wasn't able to work on it here either. I've never seen anyone have so much trouble putting an engine in a VW before. I've never seen it take more than a day actually, unless someone took extensive breaks or something. Once a friend and I swapped a Bug engine out in a parking lot in an hour! (semi-long but funny story)Ok Bugs are a lot easier, but still..they're all made to be at least somewhat easily worked on. I brought the car to these guys because I couldn't find another shop that would take it. Actually they did a great job with simple things like oil changes and that was why I eventually trusted them with more major repairs. I was mistaken. I would love to talk to a lawyer and get something going with this, but I don't have the energy or resources to pursue this with the other legal issue I have going on. At this point I'm just glad that it's able to be parked there and I'm hoping to find a buyer who will be able to fix her up again. I really enjoyed that car when it was running and I think that someone else could too with very little work. It's not a total basket case and the mechanical work needed isn't very hard (unless someone wanted to fix the FI, but that might just be me - I never got into that). The cosmetic stuff isn't too expensive aside from paint. I was trying to get it done quickly so I could keep the car before I had to finally admit that it just wasn't possible for me to keep. I'm really going to miss it, but I'll feel a lot better if I can at least recoup the money I spent on the actual engine. Next time I will buy one when I own my home and it has a garage...which I'm guessing will be awhile :-/ -Jen On 8/8/05, Jim Adney <jadney@vwtype3.org> wrote: > On 8 Aug 2005 at 16:57, Jennifer Sawyer wrote: > > > I have some sad news to share.
