Hmmm, I thought they stopped in '71. At any rate, the plugs are a good thing, 
but you must not be tempted to just fill up the boots with grease. If you do, 
they won't have the flexibility they need in use, and they will burst. If you 
add grease, squeeze the boot from side to side between your thumb and 
forefinger while you add grease and stop as soon as you feel any movement 
inside the boot.
