It is VERY important to replace the plastic. Otherwise rain will ruin the 
pressboard backings of your vinyl door panels.

You can make replacement plastic panels from the large sheets sold in Home 
Depot, etc. You want something reasonably thick, not dry cleaner bag thickness.

Glue it in place with gasket sealant or rubber cement. The glue doesn't have to 
be really strong. I use Gas-ga-cinch because I can pull it away and put it back 
without damaging the plastic, just like the original.
