I was wondering why there are two different Oil Fill > Tubes, Items #1 and #2? Were they for different years? # 1 was used up thru 67 and then again in 72-3. The early breather used the rubber valve at the bottom of the breather tube, instead of connecting to the filler pipe. The 72-3 system didn't have a down pipe from the breather at all. # 2 was used from 68-71 with #10 and the breather box that connected to it. Those years used a breather down pipe that drained back into the sump via the filler pipe with the extra nipple on it. If your hose is leaking, just glue its bottom junction. The upper joint won't leak, because gravity is the wrong direction. If the hose is cracked, you'll have to replace it, but it's only 3" long. You'll have to remove either the breather box or the filler pipe to get the hose out. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
