It indicates that this is a type 3 distrubitor and I gather that it is vacuum advance only. That means that it will probably only work correctly with the same carbs that it was originally supplied with. > Can I replace this with a 009 distributor? You want a dist with a good advance curve, but for whatever reason, the word on the street is that the 009 no longer comes with a decent advance curve. Just using any later FI dist, the mech adv part only, will give good results. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
