There are actually 3 of them. One is front and center under the bumper and allows you to remove the shift rod. The other 2 are in the rear fenders just ahead of each rear wheel. Those are there to allow you to remove the torsion bars. All 3 of them are held in place by a kind of steel cup that fits on the inside of the body metal. The 2 rear inner cups are usually rusted out by now. It's a bad design, rust-wise, they capture dirt and water and rust away quickly. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
