Yes, there's a trick. ;-) Remove ONE wheel and the 2 drum bolts. Leave the other wheel and tire attached. With the rear end securely up on jackstands, start the engine, shift into 1st gear, and let out the clutch. Speed up the engine a bit and then SLAM on the brakes. The drum will spin free. Remount, temporarily, that wheel and tire, remove the other one, and repeat. Having one wheel and tire on one side adds some momentum, which helps break the rust bond. It's a big help when those drums are stubborn. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
