The 69 speedo has no trip meter; that's why it can get accidentally reversed. The trip meter shaft comes out at the lower left, so it's impossible to make this mistake on the later units. I can't quite picture this right now, but I don't think those hash marks are on the front plate. I think they were on an inner plate which could get reversed with no symptoms other than the fact that the hash marks no longer lined up nicely with the numerals. It's pretty subtle. So subtle in fact that it took Dave to notice it. If he had only noticed it on the way TO Parma, we could have had a short session on speedometer removal and disassembly at the Invasion. ;-) -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
