Re: [T3] Electric fuel primer pump (was: Parts, parts, parts!)

<x-flowed>Excellent idea, Jim! I'm gonna do that on the Lightsider.

Because my baby doesn't get used as often and she's back to using a mechanical pump, I was already thinking of an electric fuel primer pump. What I'm wondering is, does it matter what position the mechanical fuel pump is in when the electric pump pushes fuel? There are internal valves to keep the fuel in the mech. pump from back-flowing when it's drawing fuel instead of pumping it to the carbs. Would this make any difference?

I wonder if one could hook up an electric pump with carbs AND the usual mechanical pump, just to run by pushbutton to get things primed.
