311 501 163A & 311 501 164A are the L & R bearing housings for all swing axle 
type 3s from '64 on. It looks like the cover (113 501 3311A) might have changed 
in minor ways, and that the little spacer sleeve (113 501 303B) may have 
changed at the same time.

What makes you think the axles have been shortened? Any idea why this would 
have been done? Are you looking for a complete '67 tranny/rear axle assy with 
brakes? That's looking like the best solution.
