I don't think the baking soda will help, since this is not a case of acid getting on the terminal. I've never had trouble with these, but if I did, I'd just remove and install it a few times, blow out the crud and smear some grease in there to keep the air and water out. Dielectric grease probably has no advantage here, since this is strictly low voltage.
