Yes, but I don't know when the upper, or lower, holes began. We may have 
discussed this earlier. Did you check the archives?

Okay, I tried, but now I find that the search engine appears to be off line 
again. That's in spite of the fact that the listserver is adding a tag line to 
every message advertising it.

Yes, and I'm pretty sure '66s had them, too. 

The late seat belt anchors are a 7/16" x 11 thread (really!) from at least '68 
on, but early VW seat belts had about a 1" anchor. I don't know if those were 
ever used in type 3s.
