My guess would be that of the two switches, one was front fogs and the other a rear fog light. I think it most likely both front and rear ones were fitted below the bumper, possibly rectangular Hella lamps. My '73 project(?) has a "bad weather" option that seems to have had fog lamps, mudflaps. I did research the items listed on the original order, but can't remember all the details at the moment, and I can't find some of the M-number descriptions. M659 is a relay for halogen fogs - that would probably be in the relay board if you have it. The switches are on/off and illuminated when on, I expect. Somewhere I've a rectangular switch with 'fog' written on it - looks similar to the push-button dash knobs. Dave.
