Hi, The pictures that you posted show a switch that is virtually identical to mine (I have a 71 Notch in Sydney). I read somewhere in the web (can't remember the site) that aircooled VW in Australia often used components from previous years, and even beetles where fully spec'd as the previous year but were sold as current year's model. So it's possible that you have a 71 switch on a 72 because VW Australia still had a lot of 71 switches. But then again, I could be totally wrong on this.
