http://www.hallvw.clara.net/type3ign.htm gives the factory instructions for
ignition timing for all the Type 3 engines, including the dual vacuum units on
the 71 carbed and 72 FI engines.   It also shows which marks on the flywheel to
use.  If you don't have the correct distributor for the engine, you may need to
think it through a bit first.
