Afternoon all, I just got my fiberglass bumpers in.(the original were beyond repair)I ordered them from Mid America/ RMMW. A couple of observations as well as questions 1. There are no mounting holes/hardware or brackets included. A friend of mine got bumpers for his ghia and it had all the brackets glassed in. It looks like I'll be fabricating these. 2. The original bumper brackets are too wide to fit into the new bumper blades. I had to buy early bug brackets from my local vw guy. I have to shorten them by 1 3/4 inches otherwise the bumper sticks out too much. They fit nicely inside the bumper but I will still have to glass a metal bar into the bumper to mount the bracket to. 3. In case anyone is interested, Mid Amer/RMMW has these listed as a limited amount item. Does this mean after they sell out, they wont restock? (Re: earlier list discussion about MidAmerica not re stocking type 3 parts) 4. Has anyone done this before? Is there any advice out there or would the list be interested in a how to? I've never done one before but I have a digital camera and I can write. (Just wondering) I won't be diving into this for a least a week. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
