If you're taking some of the works out, you should be able to fit a quartz movement to the minute hand and drive the clock that way. You keep everything in view, including the hand setting. I will make my '72 clock lash-up into a permanent mod and take pics, some day when I feel bored! Now, where did I put all that stuff? ;-) Dave.
