we stood the old one up next to the replacement axle tube and end
casting,
and it was shorter. So, I called the guy who sold the tranny to the PO
and he said. yeah. we pressed off the old end castings and pressed on
early
bug end castings, in order to install shorter axles.
This was apparently to make the wheels clear the fenders.
it has flat four sprint stars on it. [
