If it is actually a stripped Heli-coil, and the rest of the head is in good shape, Then there are several additional things that can be done. There are several sizes in steps of oversize inserts that can be done to a spark plug hole. Heli-coil is just the first size. The factory themselves used different sizes to repair heads on their factory rebuilt engines. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
