This relay has a threaded stud that is much smaller than > that hole; would the stud relay be for even earlier cars? VW used both. You put the stud through the hole that the clip was in. And put a nut and a star washer on it. The star washer is to maintain ground. The difference in the 2 prong, and the 3 prong, IIRC was that the indicator light went to the extra pin. Or it could be ground. Check the terminal numbers. 31 is ground. -- Russ Wolfe '71 FB AT '66 FB MT '64 T34 (not running) '65 T1 (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
