VW used both. You put the stud through the hole that the clip was in.
And put a nut and a star washer on it. The star washer is to maintain
ground.
The difference in the 2 prong, and the 3 prong, IIRC was that the
indicator light went to the extra pin. Or it could be ground. Check the
terminal numbers. 31 is ground.
