How much fuel pressure do you have. Should be 28-30 psi.

Are you sure you were on the right cylinders when checking the valves.
While the engine is on #1, you can check both #1 valves, the intake on
#2 and the exhaust valve on #4. Now turn the engine over 360 degrees and
check the valves on #3 and the intake on #4, and the exhaust on #2.

The pump running all the time would not keep the car from running. How
is the #19 wire from the control unit to the pump relay. If it is
grounded, the pump will run all the time. The connection from this wire
of the FI harness to the main harness to the front is located just left
of center on the front firewall of the engine compartment. By firewall,
I mean the verticle portion of the body in the front of the engine bay.
It is a single connector.
