Hello All,
I have been follow the thread about water leak in t-3's; now I got a
question. How does one remove the leaves form the fresh air intake area? I
can't figure it out.
Mine [ '72 ] was particularly bad, when I got it, and it took me a while to actually figure out how bad my problems with it were.
I ended up removing the fresh air box, disassembling it to get all the junk out of it. [ and the fan had rotted from sitting in gobs of water. ]
with it removed I was able to put a shop vac with it's wide floor attachment around the opening where the fresh air box was. Once I had this sucking stuff out I was able to use chopsticks through the grill up top and shuffle all the larger still wet chunks around until they got sucked out. I Imagine that compressed air would have been really helpful at that point. but the vacuum from underneath turned out to be an incredibly helpful trick.
after that I had to clear the exit lines for the water as both were quite clogged. I just poked through them and tried to run water through, until it ran smooth.
hope that helps.
