	Thanks for the suggestions, Daryl.

	I actually once had a problem with the selector mechanism 
that produced "random" gear selection -- the mechanical pass-through 
piece that transmits the selector motion from outside the tranny to 
inside the tranny was not rigid, but would pivot -- effectively made 
slack in the selector.  What I'm experiencing now is very, very 
different; selection appears to be dead-on right to me in this case.

	(Well, at the same time, I hope it *is* the selector or 
something similarly simple!!)
