While others have reported that they get this kind of mileage, I seldom do. OTOH, I bought a "new" '72 AT FI squareback and drove it to my parents home last summer. That's 400 miles each way. I got 25-27 mpg on that trip, which is the best I've gotten in years. Maybe there's something about my engine rebuilds that costs me mileage, but even my untouched '73 AT FI gets 20-23. That's been my norm for 30+ years. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
