Yes, I drove the car in there, and the engine was running fine last 
time. It doesn't feel that solid, and I can't hear any metalic sort of 
noises when I turn the engine up against the obstruction. I listened 
down by the heads with the spark plugs out, but couldn't work out which 
cylinder it was from the noise.

Yes they were all fine, and had clearance (although I didn't check it 
with the feeler gauge, but at this point I don't think that would make 
that much difference).

Yes, that is a good idea. If I am lucky I will be able to blow it out. 
I will have to use a bit of hose and my mouth though, I don't have 
power at my shed.

I am hoping that it is just carbon at this stage, it seems funny that a 
serious problem would develop just like that after it had been sitting.
